Fateh Sagar Lake

It is one of the four lakes of Udaipur, which is also known as the City of Lakes. The other three being Udai Sagar Lake, Jaisamand Lake and Pichola Lake. Fateh Sagar Lake is a man-made lake towards the north of Pichola Lake. Built in 1678 by Maharana Fateh Singh, Fateh Sagar Lake is surrounded by a number of hills. There is a beautiful garden island in the middle of this lake called Nehru Park, comprising a boat-shaped restaurant and a zoo. This park is accessible by motor boats from Moti Magri, a popular hill-top. There are two more islands on this lake, of which one houses a public park and the other the Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO).
